Terms of Service
These terms explain how ExcelDrills works, what you get with Premium, how billing and cancellation work, and what we expect from you. We have tried to write them in plain language.
The way refunds and payment disputes affect your Premium access is explained in the Refund Policy. How we handle personal information is explained on the Privacy page.
About these terms
These terms apply when you use ExcelDrills.com (the site), create an account, or buy Premium. If you do not agree with them, please do not create an account or buy Premium. Practising as a guest does not need an account.
Who we are
ExcelDrills Premium is provided under the commercial name ExcelDrills.com. Questions about these terms, a charge or a refund: support@exceldrills.com.
ExcelDrills.com, support@exceldrills.com.
Payments for Premium are taken by Stripe, through its Link service, as the seller of record; see Who sells Premium below.
Your account
The free site is open to people of all ages. You can practise without an account, and an account lets you keep your progress and, if you wish, buy Premium.
Give us accurate information when you register, keep your password secret, and do not share your sign-in details. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it.
Premium is attached to one account and is for the person whose account it is.
Plans and prices
Premium is sold in three plans. The prices below are in US dollars (USD) and are shown before tax. Tax, where it applies, is added at checkout (see Taxes).
At checkout the payment page may also show the amount converted into your local currency, with the conversion shown before you pay. The price in US dollars is the base price.
- Monthly: US$15.99 per month, renewing automatically.
- Annual: US$47.99 per year, renewing automatically.
- Lifetime: US$179.99 once, with no renewal.
Who can buy Premium
Premium is for adults: you must be of the age of majority where you live to buy it. The free site is open to everyone.
Where you can buy depends on Stripe, which processes the payment. At the time of writing Stripe does not support purchases from China, Cuba, Iran, Kosovo, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha, and Stripe may change this list. The free site is not affected.
Who sells Premium
Premium is sold through Stripe Managed Payments. When you buy Premium, Stripe, through its Link service, is the seller of record for your payment: it takes the payment, calculates, collects and pays the tax that applies to it, and handles payment disputes and payment-related support. Stripe's Link terms and privacy policy apply to the purchase, in addition to these terms; they are linked on the checkout page.
ExcelDrills provides the Premium service you are buying: the exercises and features, your account and your access. These terms and the Refund Policy govern that service and how your Premium access changes when a payment is cancelled, refunded or disputed.
How you pay
Payments are made on a page hosted by Stripe. ExcelDrills never sees or stores your full card number. By paying you authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method for the total shown at checkout and, for a Monthly or Annual plan, for each renewal.
Stripe sends you the receipt and billing notices by email, from Link rather than from ExcelDrills. On your card or bank statement the charge can appear as LINK.COM followed by a reference, not as ExcelDrills. Stripe may offer to save your payment details in a Link account.
Taxes
Prices are shown before tax. At checkout Stripe calculates the tax that applies to your purchase from your billing address (for example sales tax, VAT or GST) and adds it to the price. You see the total, with the tax shown, before you pay.
The tax rate depends on where you are, so the total can be higher than the price listed on the Premium page. Your receipt shows the tax that was charged. Each renewal of a Monthly or Annual plan is taxed at the rate that applies at the time.
Monthly and Annual: automatic renewal
A Monthly or Annual plan starts when your payment succeeds. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period (one month or one year) and we charge the same payment method the then-current price for the next period, until you cancel.
You can see when your plan renews or ends under Account, in Premium and billing.
How we tell you about a price change before it applies to a renewal is under Changes to these terms below.
Cancelling
You can cancel a Monthly or Annual plan at any time: open Account, choose Manage billing, and follow the steps on Stripe's page. You can also manage your order on link.com.
After you cancel, Premium stays on until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not by itself refund the current period (see the Refund Policy).
If a payment fails
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again for a period set in our payment settings. While it does, your Premium access continues for a short grace period, currently 3 days from when we first learn of the failed payment. You can update your payment method under Manage billing. If the payment cannot be collected, your plan ends and Premium access stops.
Lifetime access
Lifetime is a single payment with no renewal. It gives access to the ExcelDrills Premium content and features that we offer while the Premium service operates, tied to your account.
Lifetime means the life of the Premium service, not your own lifetime and not a fixed number of years. We may add, change or remove content and features over time. Lifetime does not include separate products that may be sold in the future, and it cannot be transferred to another account.
Lifetime access ends if the account is deleted, if the payment is fully refunded or lost in a dispute (see the Refund Policy), or if we end the account under these terms.
Refunds and payment disputes
Whether we will refund a payment, and how a refund or a payment dispute changes your Premium access, are explained in the Refund Policy. Please read it before you buy.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Account settings. Deleting it ends your Premium access, including Lifetime access, and removes your account from our systems as described on the Privacy page. Any active subscription is cancelled first, so you are not charged again.
Deleting your account does not by itself entitle you to a refund. Stripe keeps its own payment records, and deleting your ExcelDrills account does not delete them.
Acceptable use
Please use ExcelDrills to learn. You agree not to:
- access, or try to access, Premium content or features without a Premium entitlement, or interfere with how access is checked;
- copy, scrape, publish or resell the exercises, solutions, explanations or datasets, other than for your own personal learning;
- share your account or use someone else's;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or probe the security of the site, or to get around its rate limits; or
- use the site in a way that breaks the law or the rights of others.
Our content and your content
The exercises, explanations, datasets, text, design and software of ExcelDrills belong to us or our licensors. While your account is in good standing, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning.
Excel is a product of Microsoft. ExcelDrills is an independent learning site and is not endorsed by Microsoft. We keep a record of your progress, not the formulas you type, as the Privacy page explains.
Suspending or ending an account
You can stop using ExcelDrills at any time. We may suspend or end an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms or puts the site or other people at risk. What happens to payments in that case is covered by the Refund Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its effective date. Changes do not reduce what you have already paid for.
If we change the price of a Monthly or Annual plan, or change these terms in a way that matters for your plan, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then. This does not limit any right you have under the law that applies to you.
